Brendan Behan’s muscular, visceral prose and plays won him acclaim in his lifetime – not like he cared. This play, which established Behan as a world famous playwright and subsequently a media celebrity first ran out of a tiny Dublin theatre (The Pike) in 1954, so perhaps its fitting that Pike founders Alan Simpson and Carolyn Swift have decided to revive the play at The New Theatre. Ronan Wilmot directs a cast including P.J. Brady, Declan J. Connaughton and Mick Fitzgerald, with tickets available from €10.
