It seems odd to apply the term ‘hidden gem’ to a restaurant and venue that’s been open since 1994 on Suffolk Street, but people who have walked by Pacinos for several years may not even know what an enjoyable restaurant lies inside. For starters, the large dining room has been filled with light – and an easy-going atmosphere – since a renovation that finished in 2008. An expansive eating space still fills up quickly in the evenings.
The renovation has also seen the restaurant’s basement transformed into a cellar bar and venue that is free to hire for private parties. When patrons are finished enjoying themselves downstairs, they can head upstairs at 22:30, mingling at the Rock’Roll club every Friday or the hot Salsa club on Saturday nights.
Even though they’ve added these late night clubs, it’s clear that the staff at Pacino’s haven’t taken their eyes off the food either. The breakfast menu still has a mix of light crepes and hearty Irish fare, while lunch and evening features Italian classics. The classic and gourmet pizzas – and the delicious Carbonara – are all cooked to perfection. If you’re watching the pennies, meanwhile, you can order from the recession-biting menu, which offers 2 courses for €12.95 all evening from Sunday to Wednesday.

I've gone by here so many times and pegged it as a cookie-cutter Italian restaurant with a tacky name. Turns out I was very, very wrong! :) The food and service are good, and I like the layout of the place - pretty sprawling, meaning there's usually space to sit down.inserted the: 08/12/2009

If you are a registered user and have logged in (i.e. the system has recognized you) you may comment on a venue. The comment that you leave must, however, follow certain guidelines.
2night's editorial team will check the first 5 comments that each user posts. If the comments comply with the guidelines, they will be published. Commenting on other comments is prohibited. Your comments must be related to the venue and not to what other users have to say.
* The editorial office will always have the last say on the publication of comments. Their decision is final and should a comment be considered out of context, for any reason, it will not be published.
* The refusal of any proposed comment will lead to the addition of an extra comment to the standard 5 comments that will require the approval of the editorial team.
* When a comment is not published (unlike a comment being refused) the amount of comments that require the approval of the editorial team remains unchanged.
* If a comment is published, even in error, and is subsequently removed (due to other users bringing alerting us that it does not comply with the guidelines), the author will be penalized: a 1-month ban from posting comments and an extra comment will be added to the standard 5 comments that require approval.
* The same applies to those who have already published over 5 comments: if one of their comments is published (without intervention from the editorial team) and removed for breaching the guidelines, the author will be penalized: a 1-month ban from posting comments and an extra comment will be added to the standard 5 comments that require approval.
* Other users may vote for comments they like. * You may only vote for a comment once. * On the venue's page the comments that have received the most votes from other users will be listed. All other comments may be viewed by clicking on â€˜read all'. * You may leave more than one comment for a venue but no more than one a month. * Comments may not be modified. * Every time your comment is viewed by the editorial team, who will consider whether it is publishable or not, you will receive an email. Should you wish to be removed from this service, email info@2night.it or change your personal settings (go to the â€˜change my details' page). * A user may be blocked from writing comments for an undetermined period of time (or even forever) for questionable conduct such as defamatory / vulgar / offensive comments towards third parties, including 2night staff, managers of the venues, those who work at the venues and other users. It is important to remember that that the user will always be held responsible (even if legal action is taken) for any comments posted.
